Top Ten Movies I'm inspired by.

10: Big Fish
"She said that the biggest fish in the river gets that way by never being caught."
I'd like to think my life is full of stories and big as this.
Exaggerations and remembering things the way you want to, rather than the way they were.
My life is full of irrelevant stories and endless inside jokes.
9: A Little Princess
"What are you doing? Memorizing me by heart?"
"No... I already know you by heart."
This films cinemetography....sigh. It captures me. The colors, the facial expressions, the house, everything.
I could watch this movie without any sound and still get the same thing from it.
My father, has always made me feel like a princess. I feel safe.

8: Where the Wild Things Are
"Happiness is not always the best way to be happy."
Running away from life not only physically, but emotionally.
Imagination. I never want a child to feel alone, or unwanted.
I never want anyone to feel like that.
We're all kings and queens of the world.
7: The Science of Sleep
"A heart that sighs has not what its desire."
Believing in what's real, and what I dream.
I have a true belief in my subconscious mind.
Becoming completely lovestruck.
I hope I never lose my imagination.
6: The Counte of Monte Cristo
"God has offered us a new beginning..."
Oh, mercy. A love that never dies. Becoming free of things, the way you are free of revenge.
Taking the best of every circumstance, even loss.
I love a good story of revenge.

5: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
"Maybe you can find yourself a nice antique rocking chair to die in."
The ugly side of love.
Temper traps. True emotions. Wrong choices. Wiping away negative memories.
Reminds me of all the things I regret I didn't do for or say to a person I loved. It never goes away.
I could write a list of 100 things I've learned from this movie.
It also makes me realize how important it is to keep the bad memories.

4: The Time Travelers Wife
"It's like gravity. Big events....pull you in."
"I was a big event."
Relationships are hard. A lot of work. I love this novel. The film is a favorite as well.
So so, sad. So so, good.
It makes me grateful to know that the people in my life, are actually there.
This movie has so much sentimental value to my life at this moment.

3: Candy
"We had a lot going for us. We'd found the secret glue that held all things together. In a perfect place, where the noise did not intrude, our world was so very complete."
A life situation. Choosing between what you want and what's right.
Losing. Fighting.
Realistic endings aren't always happy endings.
But a fight for love is a fight worth fighting.

2: The Notebook
"If you're a bird, I'm a bird."
My favorite movie.
I live my life through this movie, vicariously. I feel I have lived every scene, felt every emotion portrayed. I'll tie my life into this movie more often than any other. I'm a hopeful. Romantic. I feel so much.

1: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
"I was thinking how nothing lasts, and what a shame that is."
"Some things last."
It's so good, I almost never want to see it again. It is my heart warmer and my heart breaker.
It makes me think about time. How it would be if we started out backwards.
Began our life wise...and slowly grew to become innocent.
I have a Benjamin Button.
A lifelong love.

let's hear yours.

First the artists, then this. We have far too many things in common, my dear. I'm afraid I probably won't be posting a top ten movies list--there are far too many for me-- but it is a wonderful list.
